i sincerly hope that is the case but for now she can stay in isolation so i can keep an eye on her to make sure but i might put the others back together. you can see why i paniced it does look horific! iv got some bigguns that are over a year old and never done anything like that! she seems happy enough. as for tweezers i thought it was something majorly bad and that clearing out the mud would help and stop infection, alteast she can now pop out her eyestalk which she couldnt before. besides i was very careful im renowned for precision in disections but if it happens again and doesnt take too long to come off ill leave it be. as for egg after being barely 2 inches across..! WOW! we will see what happens...

Ah yeah I agree with Feebix, looks just like the mating gloop to me. Sometimes they miss and gloop one another! I was once watching two fulica about to mate, and one shot out it's love-dart too early, before they'd connected, and the other snail got a head full of sticky gloop. It came off in time.
My guess is that it's either a mating miss-fire or an extra gloopy after-mess!
No worries. It will come off on it's own.

well as the second lot of pics showed i managed to take it off. i know feebix thinks it was very risky but now sapphire isnt constantly fighting to get her eyestalk out and can actually sleep properly (before she couldnt retract her head into her shell due to that stuff and kept the one functioning eye out) she seems happy enough now but im still keeping her in isolation for a bit just to be on the safe side.... thanks for eleviating my worry anyway guys!

Well that's the great thing about forums, we can all learn and take advice from people who have experienced what ever it is Feebix was in the right place at the right time and quick to respond with some excellent information and advice, which was fortunate, because I can understand how it would have looked like some kind of infection. Personally speaking I'm constantly learning from other people on here, I've lost count of the helpful tips and advice I've taken from people who have experienced what ever it is, and in turn it's nice when I can offer help to others when I have experience of something. Luckily in this case you really don't need to do anything, the snails just sort themselves out with it.

Yup saved me from bathing her in stuff to try and clear up the 'infection' which could have made things worse so thankyou so much ;D she seems almost fine today so im sure you guys were right. thankyou! ;D

Moment ago Femi and her kid tried to mate. It didn't succeed. There's now on the foodplate some yellow goo. Ewww, I never have witness anything like that but at last it didn't stay on mating partners foot.
