I'd like other opinions on this, bu it doesn't look like a tear to me. Some snails retract so far that you can see quite a way into the shells, so I don't believe the body is permanently attatched to the shell lip, but as I say, I wouldn't mind other opinions on this. x

Eek! Snails are wierd at times, is there any reason they retract in? He seems fine at the moment, he's scoffing some banana and Googly seems to be watching from the other tank.

Not normal to me though, like i said i've never seen it before so i got worried, I panic alot...just wanted to see if it was or not. Now I know it's not I'm gonna put him back in the other tank...when he finished eating.

so sorry about your little guy, hope he recovers. i also agree with the shallow tank thing so that he doesnt have to climb so high, and i dont know if isolation would be good or not, but that could be an option if it calls fo it. how old is Bob? hope he gets better
