ok then i gave him a bath but was hes whole body ament to go under? Just up to where his shell starts, so that his breathing hole is above the water. Val

oh i went back to the shop theres about five now, soil on the bottom instead water not as smelly and almost fresh food.
so its getting better but not perfect.
and i will post pics of this little fellow later any ideas for names

Did you get rid of the mites? If not, I found the only way was to put them on paper for about 10 days in an otherwise bare tank and wash them daily in lukewarm water (I used the shower but don't tell my family!)
This is usually enough to get rid of them.

I think Lucky is an excellent name. Lucky you went into the pet shop when you did, lucky he was on the lid, and lucky for him that you rescued him.
Glad to see the pet shop has cleaned out the tank, sounds like it was awful in there.
