Give them all a warm bath, preferably with bottled or filtered water. You can let them soak in the water for a few minutes at a time - snails can go quite a while without breathing. Hopefully this will encourage them to come out. Once they start to poke out of their shells, put them on some fresh food back in their tank. Have you given them anything new to eat, or any new decoration or ornaments in the tank? Have you been washing their food thoroughly before giving it to them? Are they being sprayed with clean water, is it tap water or is it filtered or from a bottle?

i gave them a run under the tap, and they are now active, except the retics :S and they all seem quite skinny, even though i feed them alot, and they eat it :S And no, i've not given them anything new to eat(Ouh, except spring onions)-(which i washed) and no nothing new was added :S they are sprayed with tap water, ill go out and buy bottled tommorow, aswell as a separition tank for the baby albino retics(if there still alive)-becuase there really skinny, and i fear that the fulica's might be getting all the food :S and 1 retic was responsive, where as the other not soo much Thanks, Simon.

Hmm.
Well how humid is it without spraying? There shouldn't be many holes in the tank you are using, else the sir gets too dry for them. Retics love it humid. Secondly have the retics lost weight or got smaller since you got them or have they always been skinny? Reticulata are a lightweight species anyway, their bodies are not as meaty/chunky as many other species.
The other thing is, I did read the the onion family of plants are bad for snails, so I've nvefr tried them with mine, but I wonder if anyone else can confirm this?
Perhaps best to place a bowl of water in there for them so they can soak out any toxins, or just enjoy a nice bath if they're a bit dry?

sounds odd that they where all retracted, something must of happened that they don't like weather it be food or just conditions. Like Alliensnail said the retic's do like it humid, my retic tank has condisation dripping off the sides most of the time and they love it! also what temp is your tank? I personaily wouldn't be keeping fuilca and retics together i would imagine their requirments are too different? anyone else agree/disagree??

place the retics in a shallow bowl with oyster shell, limestone , cuttlefish and a little water so it soaks up some of the calcium providers . let them bathe in it gently.Keep your eye on them make sure the water isnt too deep .

Ah well they may not have eaten the onion, perhaps are just retracting from the fumes. also they may recover well if you cover almost all the holes with cling film to keep the humidity up, and keep it that way. Retics don't take well to dry air conditions

I'm hope they get better soon i cant offer any help advise im afraid apart from steer away from onions & garlic & leeks - all part of the onion family (Allium). Allium to varying degrees contain sulphites which are actually poisonous, they give the destinctive flavour to such things as onions garlic etc and are actually there as a deterent since the bulb is not a part of the plant the plant wants you to eat (but to quote a marvolous lecturer 'but humans are perverse and enjoy the flavour of the deterent"). In sufficient quantities humans could poision themselves but you would be far far too full before you managed that (some distilled onion i guess..) Its not cummulative and passes through the system (the reason many people eat onions etc all their lives with no ill effects - you can also do the same with cyanide in small quantities which can be found in apple pips but i digress...) onces your snails recover they should be fine, but i'ld strongly advise not feeding anything from the allium genus again hopefully since it is a deterrent they shouldnt have eaten too much and will hopefully pull through! i'm routing for your little guys! let us know how they do! modification: I really hoep the one you think is lost isnt hopefully everyone will pull thorough! Is there any signs of them eating the onion - it is a deterrent they should have avoided it

Hey Simon i was wrong about keeping the two together, don't listen to me! put some clingfilm over the top that will help keep the humity in.

Aw Simon.
Yeah I should just air it off a little before you clingfilm it, but hopefully with a bath too they'll pull through. Please let us know x

i really hope they do make it *hugs* best of luck. they should have been detered by it keep that in mind they hopefully wont have eaten much! i didnt know about celery i gave some of mine celery a wile back... they didnt eat much but they seemed ok. maybe its just wise to avoid things with very strong flavours, since that tends to be a sign that something odd is going on.
