Some of the non-Achatinidae now. Hadra webbi from Martin Goss last year, they seem to be rather slow growing for me, might have to try keeping them some different ways.

Hemiplecta sp. from India, recent purchase of some babies from Martin Goss, these seem very active too.

Pleurodonte isabella I really like these as they are so active, but no one else seems to want to buy them, I guess the larger species are more popular.

Subulina octona These teeny snails were doing well but I have had a bit of population crash lately for some unknown reason. Anyone else have problems?

Otala lactea - from Portugal, sorry about the dodgy photo. These are not doing great with me, I think it is too warm in the shed in the winter so I might try moving them to the greenhouse at around 10C.

Rhiostoma smithi - does anyone still have these? I originally had a pair but lost one recently. They were never very active and ate very little, despite trying different conditions and foods.

Rumina decollata These had a bit of population crash over the summer with lots of young ones dying off, but I have several batches of eggs hatching now so hopefully the culture is secure.

Yeah I see beauty in slugs too. I can understand people being repulsed - they're slimey, cold, squashy....... To me though they are beautiful in the way they look and move. Ah well, perhaps either we're not normal or our little group are the only normal ones on the planet ;D The Velvet slug has a great texture
