Ah I forgot to add, it's very likely you'll see it at some point Jo. You might get right triangle dramas, I've seen snails disturb others' mating by rasping at their parts! Hmm. I just had one fulica try to woo a baby snail 1/3 of his size. Oh my.

When I heard of this, I also got the information that the snails had since been sleeping in burrows, which at the time was 2 days of solid sleep already. I should ask about whether they've come out yet hahah.

Ha ha ha ha Etana love, that is so true, in fact it is true of most men generally isn't it, not that I know about these things of course LOL?
I did see two cuddling last night, at least that is what it looked like because I couldn't see where one snaily started and the other ended but as I get used to them doing it I will be able to tell. Oh dear, you have one who likes them young ha haa!! It is a hard life being a snaily, all that lovemaking following by lots of restful sleep. You are right Zorst love, no romance anymore!!

Aww didn't I know they would get affectionate once the conditions are comfy enough. Lol yeah hours and hours of love-making, sleep, food served in front of their noses...a few of my snails have figured out how to keep their tails in the bath tub while stretching over to the food dish. I want a vacation like that. Mauno and Lady had a long Tentacle Sign Language conversation yesterday, with a lot of touching of each others' eyeballs and some patting on the back. I wonder what they're planning! I must check their breathing holes once again.

Ha ha, one of mine went to sleep on his food today Etana love and no one else could get to any LOL!! They also like to poop all over their food and in the water and I have told them it just isn't good manners LOL!! It sounds as if Mauro and Lady are going for it.

LOL sounds very familiar, taught me to have food in a couple different spots so no one can sit on all of it alone. Snaily manners yeah hahahah, such a lucky thing that they benefit from poop or snail keeping would be much, much more demanding of us.

Still no clutches in the lung cavity for Mauno or Lady (I'll keep checking - even if they have mated, they take a while to develop) but it really looks like they've become great friends. Yesterday and this morning they were bathing together again, snailing around the tank together, etc. It's so lovely to see. Meanwhile, Mauno continues to be great with the little Tigers and young Margies in the tank. He'll make a wondeful daddy-mom.

That is a good idea Etana love, to put two lots of food in, I will give that a try, It was so funny yesterday, Hetty was in a tub full f msos and stretching to the water bowl to have a drink, it was hilarious. If I were any good at taking pictures I would have photographed it. The best of luck love, I hope they lay eggies soon, they certainly sound as if they love each other.

I'm so glad you're seeing the funny side of snails Jo. They make me laugh every day too. Mauno and Lady have figured out how to not spill the bathwater everywhere, by going in and out of the bath very very slowly and carefully. I am very impressed. It's more convenient for them to not have to wait for me to re-fill the bath tub, too. My fulica spill the water and sit in the empty tub looking grumpy until I notice. I wonder if Mauno could teach them a different attitude towards bathing.

Ha ha yes Etana love, they get themselves into some funny positions and I have discovered that snailies certainly like their comfort. I saw Hetty move in and out of the water very slowly so I think she has sussed that out too. I must admit haven't seen the others go in there but from the state of the water, they certainly do LOL! I keep watching to make sure there is still water in there incase someone decided to dive in head first and release all the water haa haa.

Update: Lady is now also called Maija, to match with Mauno nicely. I got worried about her bingeing when it went on and on for days, her sitting awake eating and eating when everyone else was asleep. I decided to give her a superfood dinner in case she was nutrient deficient. Now she's on her what, fourth(?) binge-free, well-sleeping day in a row; she's eaten at nights like everyone else and slept through the days, so it looks like I was right. I made her the super dinner out of very well soaked spirulina algae and cat food, mixed into a very soft porridge-y thing, served on top of sweet potato slices. I served it to her and Mauno on a separate dish in the kitchen. What is very interesting is that she was taking ages to come out of her shell, and as long as her face wasn't visible, Mauno ate happily - but the second her eyes popped out of her head, he stopped eating and just turned to kiss and pat her as she ate. He in fact refused to take in more food, I put it in his face with my finger and he just removed it with his foot! It was as though he'd known she needed the extra food and didn't want to take one bite of it. Maybe now they can get to giving me some Mini Maunos.

That sounds so cute, how he removed it with his foot, The visions your words gave me of him doing that did make me laugh. Let hope they both have a secret they will soon share with you.

I am glad the little girl is all right, I would worry too Etana if I saw one of mine constantly at the food bowl. I know they all love their food but that is something different. I love her new name, does she like it too? That is so lovely he wanted to save the food fr her. It is very unusual in the animal kingdom, usually they do not care about others and eat as much as they can themselves, this is so heart warming. Everything crossed for babies.
