Oh Eibhln darling I am so very sorry to hear this. That is the problem when they are that tiny it is impossible to protect them from everything so please don't feel bad. Good luck with transferring them to another tank which will make things easier to manage.

I'm looking for a small one that would fit in the cabinet below my big tank. The cepaea will stay here till next summer so thats over 6 months. I think i'll go nuts if i have to keep them in the plastic ones. They are nice for temporary short term use. I found a cheap one that seems clean but it's a far drive i think.

Hugs Jo xx I will but that will be for about wendesday. First i'll clean it very very well, let i all air out, get some decoration because everything is in the big tank. And then transfer those super super tiny cepaea. It will look as if the tank is all empty hahaha. They are so small. I checked the calculator on petsnail and a tank like that can home about 14 cepaea. So thats kinda perfect.

The tank has been soaking, i removed the background because it kinda smelled and i don't think it's safe for baby snails. It has some little openings where they can crawl in and under. It's an exo terra terrarium second hand. I will probably set it up soon. But the screen lid will need some adjustment. There is a hole in one side of the screen where a lamp was. So my brother is going to pick it up and fix that. One side will stay wire screen, the other side will be replaced with plexiglass. Till then i'll lay something else on top. Snails are probably not that strong that they can lift it. Baby snails not at all i guess.

It is a shame that is have little crevices for baby snails to crawl out of love when you went to all the trouble of getting the tank especially for them. I think it highly unlikely that baby snails will be able to remove the lid, it would probably be difficult for a strong fully grown snailie. Please let me know when they have settled into their new home; have you noticed yet if there is a bossy one, the one who wants to be the leader lol? Hugs JO xx

My brother picked the lid up today and he will take a look at it. One side of the screen will stay in place because that is intact. It's needed for the ventilation. The other side will be taken off and he will replace it with some flexiglass. He has tons of that at his job so it's kinda free-ish haha. Well i do have a handful of very fast growing cepaea all of a sudden. Most are still small, some even super tiny still. But they all do seem to grow. Some just waaaaay faster than others. It will be a job of a LOT of patience and being careful to transfer them all. The Helix are getting HUGe by the way. Most are becoming enormous snails. Some are like the cepaea smaller than the other. But most really took a grow sprout the last 2 weeks. They are as big as a small size marble. I'm still in my exams but when they are finished i'm going to inspect the forest near by for a nice spot. When i found one i'll set them free. This is the size of it by the way.

Ooo very nice! Congrats! I love the Exo terra tanks, especially if I find one second hand as new ones cost a fortune. Very functional!

Got this one also kinda as a test tank because i'm thinking about getting some gecko's in the future. They seem way more practical than the sliding door ones. It also locks without extra locks to put on. So far i like it. Gave it a super good clean, decalcified the windows and it looks as good as new. This was is about 85€ new and i got it for 30€. It also fits into my ikea closet perfectly haha. Almost like it was made for it.

I am hoping to get an Exo Terra tank in the not too distant future, I look forward to making it look pretty and giving lots of hidey holes for snailies. I agree, they are one hell of a price though. Thanks for the photos love, you have a great set up. I notice puss-cat is still very interested. Hugs Jo xx

But over here most are sold with animals inclus... Yeah, that kitty is super curious and he always wants to see everything. He has been around the entire time that i was decorating. I put some wood panel on top or he would jump in! I have 2 other cats but they are a bit more chill.

I will have a look on our Freecycle site to see if anyone is selling an exo terra tank but I think I am going to have to buy a new one. I would be very lucky to get one second hand but you never know. The kitty in the picture looks very kittenish so maybe being the young one, he is full of mischief. He is lovely, I wish I could reach out and stroke him. Hugs Jo xx
