Hi all I have hatched some absolutely adorable retics babies, and wanted to get some advice on care! Our babies were originally in the tank in a take away type tub with vent holes and seemed to be doing great. We tried to move them to their own small tank to give them more room but they didn't seem to like that, and we're not at all active, so we put the back in the original tank in a (bigger) tub. How long can they stay in a tub? I don't want to move them prematurely, but I don't want to stunt their growth either? Any help would be appreciated, currently their tank is around 26°c xx

They sound adorable love but I am afraid I have no experience of them and therefore no advice to offer. Do keep us posted though as to their progress.

They should be fine in the adult tank asap. I would leave the tub open and let them explore at their own volition. As they mature you'll be to create a new habitat as space becomes more limited. But do what is best for your situation. With moving snails I have always found there is an adjustment period - if temperature and humidity is sufficient they will thrive where ever you see fit.
Temps are good. You will find they will congregate on food and larger snails. As youll know retics aren't one to bury so you shouldn't have many issues losing the babies after they initiaLly emerge.
Retics themselves have quite weak shells and most CB are genetically weak which make it difficult as they mature. My last clutch was of 60+, the majority were given away, and I kept around 12. Around four or five died which is the highest mortality rate I've had with juvenile snails.
They are great fun to watch though and are very active GALS. Do upload some photos if you get a spare moment!

Hi Borini thanks for the advice! I opened the tub when I got home about 5 hours ago, and I noticed many have moved out and are sat on the sweet potato they are adorable! I have a 4ft tank currently empty that I'm planning on moving them into once they get slightly bigger, think they might get lost atm x

One of the babies seems stick in the egg? She hatched about a week ago and I assumed she would've sorted it by now? She's growing and active just wondering if I should do something? X

I am no good with technology either love and that is a lovely photo; they are so sweet. I am sorry you have a sick snaily and I really hope she manages to come through. Sometimes animals are better at healing themselves. Please do keep us informed.

Hi all, the snailies are growing very well, they're now averaging 5cm shell and super active, there's always a few snailing about whenever I look Shellie the stuck baby snail is still okay, I noticed she's managed to get rid of the egg yesterday, she's really small and her shells a bit weird now, but last I looked she was eating sweet potato she has some new growth so she has been growing while stuck, hopefully she'll catch up soon, but she's definitely a keeper
