Sometimes mine are all huddled together love and other times they are distancing themselves from each other. I think they like some "me time" too sometimes as we all do.

As I said in the other topic, I'm pretty sure he's a different species but I can't identify him.
What have you been feeding him? Lots of red, orange or yellow foods?

2 days ago i exidently broke his shell, it dosent look severe, it broke exactly the part that he regrow since i took him. but since then he hasnt ate at all.. he only pooped twice that day and then stopped pooping or eating. other then then that he seems fine, he has no "painful" behaviors. What do you think? any idea of how to encourge him to eat? iv offered him thin sliced of all kinds including cucumber

If he's an adult or near adult snail (could be judging on his number of whorls) he can well go a few days without food. He'll start eating again when the most acute phase of the repair is finished. Make sure he has water, and a bit of food waiting for when he wants it.

Depends on the species so I can't say for sure, my own snails range from up to 5 whorls, but hatchlings are born with just a couple. He's likely sub-adult if there wasn't a lip.

One important thing about feeding snails, for everyone who's reading: DON'T change the snail's food when he's in the middle of saying no to it. You'll teach him that he gets to make unhappy faces until you find whatever he fancies at the time, and in the worst case he ends up eating only very low-nutrient foods. Sort of like you don't repeatedly give in to a child who'd rather eat McDonald's burgers than her veggies. It's not so bad if they actually want high-nutrient foods instead of what you're offering, lol. But over at Petsnails forum, many people have accidently taught their snails that they can always ask for cucumber, which should only be a rare treat. In short, changing time of the food has to be chosen as such that the snail doesn't think he was able to cause it with fussy behaviour. Not saying anyone here changes their snails' food the wrong way, but this is also for lurkers who are interested in helping injured snails and end up in this thread because of that. If the snail appears too weak to have a rasp, but he tries to move his mouth over the food and appears interested, offer him water first and then some pureed food that he can just suck in. He should get back to rasping food as soon as he gets energy from the puree.

Ha ha great post Etana love and so true. I know exactly what you mean. The mix type bunny food is not recommended because they just eat their favourite bits and do not get a balanced diet. I change my snailies' food in the morning when they are all asleep but they still manage to be picky sometimes even though they have a good variety. Is he eating helptoall love?

If he's not eating anything, have you tried making some what I call 'snail slop'! It's just some of them plain bone shaped dog biscuits ground up and you can add things like powdered cuttlefish bone, very finely chopped/puréed vegetables (particularly kale or other highly nutritious veg), or mashed fruits for the more exotic species. Then you just add a little bit of water and there's not a snail I know who wouldn't eat it! ... but I'd stick to a simpler combination to start with, maybe by just adding calcium and one type of veg! You can change its consistency by adding more water so only add a little bit to start. Mine prefer it more on the pasty side so they can rasp it properly but like Etana said, if he seems too weak you can make it more watery so he doesn't have to If he eats it he should soon pick up as its like a snail super food that's why you shouldn't really feed it too often! Full of protein and calcium and all that other good stuff that'll give him a nice boost and hopefully help with his shell! Hope he's feeling better soon!
