with my first coir block i had to much so i left it in a bowl and covered it back the water in it started to smell. how else can i store it?

It will probably be okay if you dry it out. Try spreading it on a tray and leaving it out in the sun. Another option would be to bake it in the oven but i would recommend a responsible adult doing that. Tigs ;D PS I sound like a Blue Peter presenter

Maybe you can cut the block in half,so you can store the unused part dry.
