1) Choose a web-based image hosting site - e.g. Photobucket or ImageShack, and join. Many are free.
2) Follow their instructions to upload pictures from your computer to the image hosting site. Note: Some sites give you the option of making the photo the correct size while uploading from your computer. The correct size for forums is 640 x 480
3) Copy the appropriate line of text/numbers relating to the photo and paste it to where you would like the photo to appear in your post. Note, you can always press the preview button to see how your post will look before pressing Post Message.
For more specific help with ImageShack please ask, many people use Photobucket but I don't so can't help you out with that one.

What if you cant use photobucket. i have mine on my laptop and normally upload from there. can this be done??

Unfortunately pictures on forums, this one included, can only be uploaded from internet picture-holding sites such as photobucket or image shack. There are others. I can't get on with photobucket, but many people here prefer it and can exlain how to use it. Sorry it's a little awkward having to upload onto one site before you can link it to a forum, but you soon get used to it.
