A friend of mine just brought me a load of green carrot tops, (the leaves)
Can snails eat these?

Oh that's an interesting question.......
I think carrot leaves are poisonous to people - am I right? I may look that up.
I have given the ends of carrots to the snails, after pulling the leaves off first, and they nibble the juicy orange bits from where they were cut but have never touched the tops. I have also noticed when growing my own carrots that slugs and possibly snails will nibble through the side near the top and eat the juicy insides, but never go near the leaves.
I would recon that the best part of the carrot for the snail would be the orange part.
