I've noticed on that no one had posted about when to feed the snails, not even on the care sheet, what they can eat is posted but not when to feed and how often to feed.
Just for people who are wanting to get their first pet snail might not know when to feed them and how much.

What i try to remember to do, is to feed them at about 9:00pm, about an hour before i head to sleep. because snails are nocturnal, i feel that it would be better, or more natural if they were fed later in the day, but that is just my crazy thinking, lol. i also dont feed them in their home, home, but i have a small, seperate container that i feed them in so that no food scr@ps are left to rot in the large tank. also, if a new snail owner doesnt know what times to feed their snails, just remember to feed them once a day, and everything should work out well.

Ha ha, not crazy at all = 3
Like I said I feed mine from 6pm, Last night I fed them at 10pm because I give them a bath, I tend to feed them separately from the tanks and let them feed all together. But then at times I but their food in a small dish and put it in the tanks for them, I'm yet to buy some woodlice and spring-tails as a clean up crew and then I will leave the food in the tanks.

I agree, definitely not crazy. Feeding them in the evening ensures the food is fresh for when they wake up, and they have the whole night to actively munch. You get the added bonus of watching them crawl to their food and do the things that snails do! I do tend to leave the food in the tanks an extra day, when the food start to go off I have read on several occasions that this cultivates the good bacteria that snails need in their guts to digest their food, so I'm not that fussy with cleaning out their food every day.
Stacie, when I send the snails I will send some tropical white springtails in the soil too. xx

Hi,
as Aliensnail, I change food every 2 days, before sunset (I kown, don't feed 'em after sunset, they'll turn green and mean...). Food is set in a plate and is fresh the first night for them to eat it when they are naturally active. I keep it an extra day just to make sure they don't get sterile food.

I've tried mine on all sorts of food, they like lettuce the most, they aint that keen on cucumber or mushrooms, they like green pepper's as well. Other than that they hardly touch food.
My four big Fulica's are active now and its only 3pm the babies however are sleeping, the Iredalei's are asleep too but both were active at 1pm. This is the second day their food has been in, I've ran out and going to buy some more tomorrow.

This post has helped alot!
I'm a newbie - read lots of care sheets but nothing about when to feed.
Luckily i worked it out as they all come out at night so i figured evening eas best.
Nice to have it confirmed ;D
