I'm just interested in how and why different snails are different colours is it primarily genetic or is it down to the environment in which it is in...
I'm just interested because I've aquired another Fulica which is completely different in appearance to my others and I'm curious.

the new ones the one on the left, the she's much lighter, there could be any number of environmental causes, maybe she was bleached by the sun. At Christmas time I recieved two adult Fulica and their shells were the opposite, they were so dark that they were nearly black and they didn't have a stripe on them.

I think it might have something to do with genes and enviroment's
Every tiger has it's own stripes, non exactly the same, so i guess with snails it's the same.
