Think one of my Limi's is the starting of a mantle collapse. Looked at pics on the forum re this and it looks the same has Eric's and others with the same condition. I had one die yesterday it was very retracted and didn't respond when I put him on his food or bathed him. I took him out and put him in another tub to watch. I have checked just now and another Limi is hanging quite far out of his shell. I have taken the 2 Limis put and put them on their own. I'm worried now in case it has infected my other baby snailies. I had them on their own for a week when I got them and have just nicely got them settled in the tank with my baby snailies of various species and noticed this. Does anyone know if can infect other snails in the same tank coz if it does I'm going to loose quite a few babies. Inc my albino sut and ovum, my Ham's that have recently bred so I'm fretting abit now.

Ta Caroline, I've seperated the other 2 Limis. One has really retracted the other's shell looks like it's hanging off. I'm going to loose them. I'm really worried that this might have passed on to my babies. All I can do is keep a close watch on them. I'll be gutted if I loose my baby albino ovum, suturalis and my breeding Ham's. They were in the tank with the Limis. Don't even know if handling them will have passed what ever has caused this onto my other snails.

Tried to get a pic but it's really blurred with being so close. The mantle looks like it's bulgin out ofthe shell. It is eating and moving around. I have put the 2 in a smaller container with just moss, cuttlefish and some lettuce so it's easier for them to moce around and eat. The other is still retracted but did come out when I gave it a bath and has eaten. Fingers crossed. I'm hoping they will recover, as long as they are moving around and eating then that's good. Can a mantle repair itseld. Not much info around on this sort of problem. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks for that info. Looks like I have done everything suggested. They are in a smaller tub with just moss so it's easier to move around and I put them on a large lettuce leaf cos it's easier to eat. Eric said his snailies have been breeding quite a lot so reading the info it could be they have been trying too hard. Don't think it's old age cos they are young snails and the other suggestion it could have dropped but they usually burrow and don't seem to climb much so I've ruled that one out. He's still eating anyway. The other came out when I gave it a bath and has eaten so fingers crossed. I just need to keep them more humid than in the other tank so I have put them on top of the big tank where the heat mat is to keep them warm. Still doesn't look good but I'm hopefull.
