Hi guys,
When I got my snails (achatina fulica I believe) I was told that I wouldn't need a heat mat.
However, I'm seeing more and more people using heat mats with their snails - so should I be using one? If so are there any types which are better than others?
I'm not sure of the temperature in the room, but I would think it's usually been 20 - 22 C.
Thanks

If your snails are happy and active and eating then i would say that you are ok without, esp now it's hopefully getting warmer!......maybe just get one to help you through the colder months?! a good idea would be to get a thermometer for the tank and see what the actual temp is now.....but as i said before if your snails are happy then that's the important bit..fulica are pretty adaptable to differing temps!

The snails seem happy - they are active, eat lots etc.
