There appears to be reports of Jades not doing so well in robustness than other Fulica varieties, though some people report that theirs are doing well. Is this a case of a few unlucky individuals when most are fine? Or are the Jades really worse-off than the rest? Some of us think it may be interesting, and hopefully useful, to gain an idea of how Jades are doing. We realise this data can't be conclusive as it represents only a small proportion of over-all Jade keepers, but it's a start Please would you mind (if possible) including information such as: Shell measurement of the adult Weight How healthy they are - do the eat well, breed readily, are active etc? How long-lived your Jades have been - have you had them die off suddenly whilst your other Fulica have lived longer? Any shell abnormalities or weaknesses? Proportions of runts in the litters? Any other comments that may indicate good or poor health. I think to make it comparable a similar one should be done for standard Fulica, and for Hamillei / Rodatzi, so if anyone feels like measuring theirs too and submitting the same kind of information for them too that would be great. A huge thanks to anyone wishing to take part.
