I have no idea how many of these I have (babies that is), but it is clear that I have several hatched clutches of varying ages, all growing so fast I'm astounded! I really am amazed at how quickly these little snails grow! I think I must have 15 at least, all varying sizes. The first that hatched soon after I received my adults are already around 8mm long, which is amazing for saying that my adults are around 22-24 mm long. They're currently congregating around a fresh piece of cucumber. Last night they demolished a bit of lettuce and the night before that some baby-corn.

Here here !! I went to check on mine today, the compost was a bit too wet so I had to painstakingly search through it all looking for babies and eggs. It took ages ! Turns out they`ve been really busy ! There`s loads of them in there now ! I`m just loading up some photos I did now, I`ll post them as I do them....... In this first one, you can see the eggs inside the shell...

I bought the round glass vase from Tesco, but to be honest you are better off getting a square-shaped one for purposes of putting a heat-mat against it.
With regards heat I've found that these tolerate a wide range of temperatures, which makes sense being as they have been found living in greenhouses which can vary greatly in temperature from day to day. However.... Around 22-26oC seems ideal from what I've found, as above this they will climb to the tank lid instead of eating.
Humidity-wise well mine live in quite a high humidity mainly because the babies are so minute that they could escape through even small holes, so my lid just has tiny holes pricked in it from the tip of a cork-screw.
They do appear to be quite happy in this humidity though.
Hope that all helps.

I just found some eggs from my octona ;D. They had laid them with the margniella eggs, their so tiny! I got my snail off a seller called gekos (or something like that), he sold me 13 for 11 quid or there abouts, was supposed to be 10 snails but he put it 3 by accident I guess. Their lovely snails but don't slime around the tank like others, from what i can see they seem to spend all their time either eating or sliming over eachother on the floor of the tank, the odd one does sometimes go up the sides but it isn't often.

I've got mine in coir and moss so they can go to what ever side of the tank they want. To be honest they never seem to leave the food, it's not suprising they grow so quick as for snails so small they sure do eat a lot. I keep mine with my marginella in the large petpals tank with a little heat mat stuck to the back. They really like tunneling I've noticed, if you put a cucumber or courgette in with them that's about 3 inches long rather than a slice they will eat a hole right through to the other side.

I would happily keep mine with my Marginella, once i`ve got my mega colony on the go, I may well introduce them to the Marginella tank, maybe... The thing is, you do need to throw compost away sometimes, and I hate the thoiught of throwing compost with snails in it away, so so far I`ve kept them on their own. I really like the idea of a huge colony though, I`m freeing up a tank tommorrow for them. It should make for an interesting set up I think..........
