Ooo that's very odd. Wouldn't have thought he'd be out and about without his eyestalks being out, if you know what I mean.

hi Welsh, Some time ago i received some snails from Rachel of the snail sanctuary,One we had only ever seemed to have one eye stalk, and im talking for months i was under the impression he only had one eye stalk in fact i could always identify him from all the other by this simple fact. anyway after some time bathing them all i noticed he actually had two eye stalks the other one just seemed to appear out of nowhere. I hope this is the case with your snail also. anyhow mine grew up to be an impressive healthy lad.
All the best Ade

Perhaps he's trying contact lenses.
Eww cutting them off and then growing them back, that's really gross.

All snails can grow eye stalks back if they`re cut off. There are some parasites in snails that live in the eye stalks, when they time is right, they make the eye stalks flash bright colours by moving up and down them, they even take over the snails brain and control what it does! It climbs a tree, a bird see`s the bright flashes and bites the eye stalks off, but they grow back and it all starts again, mad eh....
