The only places Ive ever seen Velvet Slugs for sale were exotic-pets.co.uk and entomental (no longer a website) I did keep them, and they did lay eggs, but unfortunatly they didnt hatch.
There were plenty of Pancake Slugs available from a shipment from Barbados a couple of years ago, I havent seen any since though, Im also looking for them. If I find either species I'll let you know.

I don't have such expierence but can suggest that 2-3 week in dark, wet and warm environment 'll not fatal for slugs. I think that flat and hard plastic container with wet moss (or sponge) inside will work well. Of course this box must be packed in larger cartoon box with paper or PVC chips between box and container. I can try to send slug or snail to somebody who interested in such expirience :-)

Hmmm, 2-3 weeks is a long time for the baby ones to go without food, it would be a miracle if they survived!!!

Hmm, of course they'll need food. May be some kind of live plants fom aquaria (like wolffia, lemna et) or moss-lichens?
