Milk products are not natural to snails, in milk can be lots of fat and powder needs water to expand. it's really messy too and it can harden on snails body and that would not be nice. Now days I save as emergency calsium every egg shell that I use if sometime I run out of calsium I will give egg shells till I get some new cuttlefish. Some people gives to snails some crushed oyster shells I think they are natural too if they would live nearby water. Yeh and some people really feed to snails some un natural things for them I think animals feel better if you don't give them anything that their body can't much process.

I used to keep all my egg shells. I love crab paste on cold toast and it comes in lovely little glass jars, really tiny little things. I just wanted to use one for something really I`m a sucker for nice glass jars and bottles lol I started off peeling the membrane that attaches to the eggs shell, then decided that took too long they probably wouldn`t mind it left on which they didn`t. You could even use a mortar and pestle to grid the egg shell up into a nice powder, that way the membrane just falls off anyway. They certainly use the stuff ! It`s good recycling too I suppose ;D I`m alright for calcium for the next thirty years myself, I ordered some cuttle fish on the internet when I was feeling a bit mashed from my meds lol I thought it was a bit pricey ! lol When it turned up it was nine bin bags full !!

Hahaaa. I use as eggshell crusher one pepper mill which are those heap ones I forced it open with screwdriver, cleaned and filled up with shell crush. Usually just drop egg shells is jar and when it's full I shove them to bottom so they will broke smaller pieces.

How do you feed egg shells to snails? I have tried, crushed, broken, whole, wet, dry, washed and sprinkled on to food and they still don't show any interest in it at all. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

I have crushed them, but i noticed problem there. I found poop full of egg shell so it might not digestion in snails body, I'll try to give with better luck some powdered one when i get bored and try crush it with pepper mill with the finest settings. I think it should be smaller powder order to digestion right.
