hi all tonight as i was feeding and tidying my snails,i noticed two were retracted,a retic and a rodatzi, both were sealed up,gave them a warm bath, when i touched the shell opening of the rodatzi the seal broke and hes ok now but he did stretch a really long way out of his shell could see where his foot ended but the shell was way back is this normal? the retic is still in his shell with the seal on,will he come out on his own? all the others in the tank are fine,i have a 7 watt heat mat in the smaller tank but i dont know if its doing much good

It's okay if they have a good stretch after waking up Snails seal up because they're too cold or too dry or both. If your retic is still sealed, you can leave him in a warm bath until he wakes up. It's hard to say whether the heat may is enough based on wattage - you need a thermometer in there. I'd be inclined to say it's not enough, but that depends a lot on the surrounding temperature.

thankyou dusk, ive put him in the big tank which is warmer and at correct temp,i think i do need a bigger heat mat in the smaller tank tho as my house isnt centrally heated so they wont get the benefit of that.
