Hey all. I was thinking when many have been talking about that when sometimes of year snails diet is so poor and monotony. That I would like to try to make my own snail mix. So I decided that would be nice to write here what could be added in and others would get ideas too from here. Yes and for those who sell it don't need to tell their secrets. Well I start; Grounded seeds like hemp, pumpkin & sunflower, fish food, dry leaves (can get mouldy fast), vegetable reptile pellets, dried coconut, nuts, egg shell crush, grounded dog food & cat food (soaks faster)

In mine I put: Plain Soaked Oats Courgette Cucumber Apple Grated Cuttlefish Powdered Eggshells and Fish Flakes - They love it! I have to give them a bath afterwards though, they fall asleep and all the oats dry on their shells.
Another Q. Can you just feed them fish flakes anyway? Do you have to wet them up first? And do anyones snails like them?

Flakes is best to make a mush of them example add some in chopped veg and they soak when they get some some vegetable juices. Then if you spray with bottle flakes they will get wet and they have to be kept in little bit moisture so otherwise when mush dries out is like cement and hard to get off. I think dry flakes won't hurt snails but they would get stick to snails body before it actually start to eat.. I tried first time those pellets they soak really fast and I like to make paste of then for snails.

Well I tried it. I put some fish flakes on some cucumber and they ate it right up and loved it! That's another treat then. Honestly, I spoil them rotten

I made one kind of snail mix. From dry leaves I mixed some rosebay willowherb, nettle, dandelion, thistle, alchemilla & clover. I decided to feed them all leaves now what I pick up last year this spiring I'm planning to mostly pick up flowers so they get in summer too loads of colors.
