Well this is really interesting subject, so you can write the weirdest things people have asked from you about snails or the weirdest comments you have heard. I was on doctors reception.. "So can you go out with them?" "sure just pick up snail and go out with it, but it's not really necessary.." "I thought so too, well tell me what they do for living?" "well their are really simple.. They just *hit, eat, sleep and lay eggs if thy are onthe mood.." *Moment of uneasy silence..* Well ok, ehmm.. So what we were talking about, oh yes what kind of plans you have for future.." Then on one forum some girl asked, could it be possible snail change their shell like hermit crab because it's in so bad shape. :/ Them my sister visited on xmas my apartment to check everything was ok, she little bit freak on checking stove is off and stuff.. She like on the phone "Where is your snails?!" "They are in my closet, just in case heater goes off for now reason.." "ah ok I'll check on them.." "Well ehhm.. There's plenty of them, but I'm not sure.." "Sure of what?!" "That are the alive.." "Ah ok, take a sniff. If it smells like dead fish some of them is dead.." "*Sniif sniif* I can get any smell.." "Well then they are just in sleep, no worries.." <- I just so love this story. xD Them people in Finland though if you feed some cottage cheese they will make eggs soon. Myth started from that keeper didn't really know snails have been mate and then they laiyed eggs mysteriously after "eating" some of that cheese.

haha. I've not heard many daft questions really. Some people don't appear to know what a snail is though. On the UK eBay site I regularly see children's soft toy caterpillars listed as snails. One day when I took some snails into the pre-school where I work one mother took a look and asked whether they were slugs or snails. She didn't seem to know the difference. The question on your forum about whenther they can change shells? That's a scary thought. I do know of one lad, one of my son's friends, who lovingly made a little home for some garden snails, asked me for some lettuce from my fridge to feed them, and told me he was going to put them back where he found them after a while. Unfortunately he pulled a couple of them right out of their shells as he was curious to know what they looked like, but hadn't realised that they should stay attached. Basically he didn't know he was harming them until I told him. Sad for the snails

Hah hah. Today heard that on one snail keepers meeting some woman tried to buy snails with 2euros and feeding bottle. Oh my. These two things are just out of this world, what was she thinking. Where people need feeding bottle if they are teens?!
