I've been doing my usual clean and found tiny black mites in one of my tanks. They are very small and I've got them on the lid of my tank, on the food and some on the snails. I've never seen these mites before only the white ones. I've no idea if they are harmful to the snails.
Has anyone any idea what they are and if they will harm my snails.
Thanks Jo xx

The bad ones are large, white and slow moving. Anything else (within reason) isn`t anything to worry about. ;D You can`t help but have mites when you create that sort of environment....

Cheers Feebs.
They are really tiny, I keep wiping the sides and lid and skimming off the top layer. Snails don't seem to be botheres but wasn't sure as I've never had these before. Yep it's hard having a totally mite free tank with such humid conditions. I've ordered some coir from fertile fibre so will have a total soil change when I get it.
;D ;D
