Mine died before breeding. I have also been hoping to find new ones to try again, but no such luck.

Oooh I've not heard mention of these for quite some time.
Do you know of Polyped? If not I'll link you to his site. He MAY know how to get hold of some.

Has anyone had any luck finding these? I really regret letting mine go years ago as they were one of my most active and loving snails. I'd love to get my hands on a pair again

Jo, generally Immacs need a well warmed tank and lots of protein in the diet because they growth spurt like no other. They are very intense and strong snails, very sensual too, mine are always getting all tangled up in each other for kisses on the mouth. They are more prone to biting other snails though so there are some more things to watch out for than with other snails. I don't have two-tones either, never seen one with my own eyes. The pics look great though.

No Jo, very easy going snails. Yes these do rasp at other snails shells and are best kept with their own. Believe me when i say it hurts, they used to rasp on my fingers after bath time and you can feel it more than other snails.
They are very hard to find, Ive been trying to track down people who bred them but with no luck.

I've been rasped by an Immac too and I agree, their mouth is different! Ow!
Yeah they're not difficult once you've taken care of those couple basic things they require (heat and different diet). Ah mine had a kissing session the other day again, I've got to update that Snail beauty photo thread!!

Isnt it? Little blighters they are.
Most of my snails where fed the same diet. Lots of leafy greens, sweet potato and plenty of cuttlefish to keep them growing strong. Two tones preferred baby food though. I used to mix baby food into their diet, which is also great for when they are sick.

Thank you ladies for all your kind comments and advice. I think I will leave these little chaps alone and stick to the snailies I have. They are absolutely beautiful though but as I am not able to house them in a different tank, I would be worried about my others being bitten. I normally love the feeling of a rasp as it is contact and I call it a love bite. I can imagine however that it could be painful if much harder. Thank you again ladies, I have learned something about these little snailies which is great.

A love bite, that is adorable and something I can jot down in my snail book. Yeah, I was never a really big fan of Immacs for this reason but the two tones were so beautiful that I bought them. I love learning from others Jo, It makes it interesting and fun

I am sure the rasp is just a bonding things love, it just happens to be a bit sharper from this type of snaily.

People who have or have had immaculatas, would you recommend them? They're so pretty, but I'm somewhat put off by the tales of their viciousness. Pros and cons, anyone?
