Happy belated Easter everyone, well I had to share with you all the story of Marrow's great adventure the other night, it had me laughing and glad to hear he's settled in well enough to be up to his old antics.
The lady who has taken on Marrow and the gang had got a phone call as she was just finishing feeding them and she quickly closed the door and went to answer the phone. Not realizeing that the door had swung back open and Marrow and the gang now had free access to the spare room. Well as night came on she went to bed and thought nothing of it, but the snalies being snalies had all woken up and had decided to follow Marrows lead and go on a great adventure.
So the next morning when there human arrived to feed them all shock horror there wasn't a snail to be seen anywhere. But a quick look around the room soon showed where they had all slimed to and hidden as her seedlings that she had been starting off before planting out were now well and truely munched as were the spider plants and the lettuce plants she'd also grown on for planting in the green house. Yes Marrow and the gang had really had a great time and enjoyed a wonderfull feast finished off with a nice bath in the bowl of water left on the floor for the dogs. Marrow was found asleep in the bath and his side kicks were in amoungst the now decimated lettuce stalks all sound asleep dreaming of their great adventure.
Needless to say the tank door is now tripple checked that it has been properly shut and locked. But it sure is great to hear that Marrow and the gang are still upto their old antics. And their new human is laughing as much as I am at their great adventure.

Happy Easter to you too love, Bad Marrow but I must admit I had to have had a good laugh. Naughty naughty snailies. I am sorry to hear about the plants but that made me chuckle too!! I bet they were shattered when they were eventually returned to their lovely home. I hope they didn't find the snaily shopping mall and spend all their money Hugs JO xx

Hahaha Zorst, I particularly like that Marrow even found a bath to sleep in. Sounds so much like him based on all the stories you've told. Marrow's children and grand-children here are doing well and growing up absolutely gorgeous. I even have some with poor late Seppo's colours, so it helps with how sad I was to lose him.

Glad to here Marrow's kids n grand kids are doing well Etana and that some even have Seppo's colors.
From what I've been told Marrow and the gangs great adventure really must have tired them out as there wasn't a snail who stuck its head out of its shell for 72 hrs, they all just slept n slept.
At that point their new pet human slave took them out and gave them all a nice warm bath so that they woke up and she could check that they were all ok. They had a good feed and went back to sleep again, no doubt still dreaming of all those tastey plants they had found and eaten. lol

Wow, what a thing the adventure was, if they need THAT much rest afterwards! Click for big version. Marrow's grand-kid has fallen asleep mid-rasp, it seems. He's still holding on to the sweet potato!

Oh bless him, thank you for the gorgeous photo love. He has fallen asleep on his dinner and determined to hang on. I saw a chap in a restaurant once asleep with his face in his dinner, I think that had something to do with the alcohol he had consumed however lol! Oh Zorst hunni, I bet they loved their little bath after a long and relaxing sleep. A bit like us in the morning, the first thing we usually do is have a shower. Hugs Jo xx

Bugger! When the perfect snaily kiss moment comes, my camera settings are wrong and it turns out blurry! That's Grey Nose on the left and a younger but bigger leucistic Margie on the right, actually it's his nephew-niece lol.

LOL, but a great pic all the same Etana they both are. Its good to see Grey nose is doing so well. We've had somewhat of an interesting week here with a farmer setting an illegal gorse fire to clear his land, then the wind got up n blew it into a forest. Well they lost all the forest n that mountain range an numerose amounts of young wild life n nesting birds n sheep n cattle lost there lives in that fire. It took the crews from 6 fire stations most of the week to get it totally put out and the phone lines burnt down as well. So we had no land phone / internet for a week. Thankfully it wasn't in this valley but it should never have happened. Needless to say he will be proceuted and fined but its to late for all they newly hatched / born wild life n livestock. Its bad enough they burn but if they have to it should be in the autumn not spring. Any how one indirect victim made its way here to me, its a fledgeling Blackbird who had just left the nest n got blinded by the smoke then injured by a cat. Thankfully it was rescued and the only damage done by the cat was tears through the skin under the wing but not into any muscle. Most fledgelings dont survive but this one has against the odds. It means I've taken over role of mum n dad with feeds for it every 20 to 30 mins from dawn to my bed time. Tiddler as its now named is learning to fly around my room and learning to do things like drink n eat on its own. Tiddler also is learning to sing so I'm having to give it singing lessons which is quite funny. The water bowl also doubles as a paddleing pool and its still trying to figure out feeding itself from the food provided. I also have to sort out its wounds twice a day, and poor Mystic was confused when Tiddler ran upto him wanting feeding, Tiddler just rememberd big black colored bird means dad n food. Mystic was like what the hell? Anyway at least this is one good thing that came out of that whole messy week. Tiddler sitting preening on the curtain rail as I type n Mystics sitting preening on top of the TV. Zorst

Wow Zorst... that is absolutely terrible news. What a catastrophe! I'm glad you're ok and you're helping the little blackbird. Do you know how many acres of forest was lost and how big a cattle? And yeah Grey Nose is great, he's not so obviously grey any more but he's still very different to Iisakki so the two are easy to tell apart. I also have a Mini Seppo who is otherwisely brown but has a gray face and eye stalks, very special little guy.

My Immacs got a new tank (new for them anyway). This is two of them settling in, having their first dinner. That's Lipsanen, the two-tone guy, on the right and probably Kalie on the left. Next pic: they fell asleep together on top of their food, bless them.

"Surely I can soak my shell and reach my food at the same time!" Also in the photo: Mauno enjoying the bath just earlier tonight. It's crowded but I need to be careful with who I separate from their tank mates. Not pictured: the strawberry house (which is at the top of the pic) put inside an empty flowerpot working as a cave, and the whole thing and a few young snails pushed into the bath tub. I sure was scratching my head! How did they do it?! Lol.

LOL I love the pic Etana dont you just love snails.
Re my late reply to your question Etana, there were around 80head og cattle and nearly 200 sheep killed in that fire, it was heart rending. The mountain valley runs for several miles so it was a large area of land. Yes the grass is coming back but that doesn't help the lives lost and the devistaion to the area and wild life.
On a good note the Black Bird fledgling is doing well and growing fast, as is the Song Thrush fledgling. She's a bit younger and smaller but a real cutie who comes over and just sits on me to hang out. As of this last Sunday Mystic got a new Jackdaw friend called Mystery, only Mystic can't get over the fact that Mystery also being a fledgeling wants constant feeding and is very, very vocal about it all, Also that Mystic can be havig a nice dose and Mystery who can kind of fly but isn't really in control of it yet oftn miss judges and lands on Mystic not beside him. Poor Mystic just comes running over to me and jumps on my shoulder demanding time out from Mystery lol. Saying that they sleep together at night on Mydtics pile of branches on the table in the corner but Mystics not so happy that Mystery has pinched his fave roost spot. an getting very noisey and interesting. The Raven's are potected birds here and are pretty rare and have had a bad start in life but were saved by a kind Parrot breeder, now they are big enough they are heading here to me.
Marrow and his gang are still doing well but with no major new adventures , though they do have a new giant plastic orange as a house which he's taken up residence in lol.

Thanks for a great piccy Etana hunni and I have seen mine do something very similar. What amazed me yesterday was that two of my snailies, I think it was Golly and Sidney, were crossed over each other's necks and eating. Surely it would be more comfortable to stay in a normal position to have your nosh lol?
Oh Zorst love, what a wonderful post, I really enjoyed reading it. You certainly have a way with animals but when I think of your blood lines, it doesn't surprise me. Red Indians were always at one with nature and respected it far more than we ever did. I would be so proud to be one. They never killed for fun, just for food and clothing. Ha ha why does it always come down to someone pinching someone else's favourite spot LOL! I am glad Marrow and family are doing really well too.
