Heya, I read the tanks can he prone to warping so we coated outs with poly varnish before use, aired out for 3 days and it's been absolutely fine with moisture etc for the past month we've been using it. Can't say how well it'll hold up in the long run, or if it made any difference

Yes, you'll definitely have to treat the wood beforehand to avoid rotting. Also, I've read conflicting things about heat mat placement inside/outside wooden vivaria, although I've not had experience with them myself. With the snails a mat can't be placed inside, and I'm unsure how well it'll warm the air through the wood if placed outside. I imagine most reptile owners counteract this with bulbs, but this isn't applicable for snails.
This is just food-for-thought. Visually they look great, I'd love one!

They are nice aren't they? Place heat mat outside at the back of the tank. I have one and a rug covering my snaily home so it stays very warm and cosy for them.
