I got a new terrarium for some of my snails. It's fantastic in almost every way, but as the sides and top are opaque it's quite dark, and I can barely see the snails when I look in, so I want to get some kind of lighting. I've searched the boards and seen that some people recommend UV lights used for reptiles, but wouldn't these be too hot for snails? Is there any kind of light you can get that you can put inside the tank and it won't get too hot for the snails to safely slime over, or would I be better off making some kind of mesh barrier to separate the light from the main part of the tank? Would aquarium lighting be appropriate? Does anyone have any specific product recommendations? This is the terrarium btw: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0052N2C42/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Or actually would it be better to cut out a section of the back of the tank, replace it with glass or acrylic, and then put a light behind it?

A friend of mine uses those little press lights than you can stick on your walls to help see. one of the larger ones wouldn't be a bad idea and you can stick them to the glass of a tank
