I thought about making a topic to show some pictures of my snails. I don't have fancy species, just regular snails from my garden. But i think they are beautiful and wouldn't want others. This one is from last night. Raia and Iola eating some sepia. i'm so glad they all finally discovered this was good for them and they can eat it! Last night i couldn't find my babypink (can't see the colors that well on this pic) snail Rosa for a while. Been looking trough the windows, checking all corners. All of a sudden i see her using Gerrit as a taxi As you can see his shell looks a bit weird. But he's the one that i had that stepping incident with. Judging by this scene, i guess his shell is quite strong again.

Haha, yep! I have lots of different colors in my garden. But i love the pink and brown ones the best. They will make a lot of pink baby's.

I got myself a little surprise this morning, literally. I was taking out all moss to check for eggs, did find some. Then i decided to wash out the part where the eggs were in. All of a sudden i see something floating out of the moss. So i checked what it was and... picked up a tiny snail shell out of the water. I was kinda surprised and assumed it was a dead baby, or at least i just drowned it. But nope! As soon as it was on my hand this little head peeked out, looking all around him like he was thinking 'where am iiiiiii!!' I was in doubt what to do. I mean, it's so little lol. But i figured that if he survived all that time in my big tank, he deserved to stay. Seems he's doing fine there anyways. I can't believe he survived a whole tank clean up and some shifting around! I never ever noticed him! He even did grow pretty wall i must say. He is quite bigger than most of my other cepaea. I'm really puzzled how i never noticed him and how he survived all that. I also never seen him near the food unless he only ate at night or something. So now i have 5 snails in my big tank. I wonder if i will see him again any time soon. Here is the little slimy If you can't find him, he's near that branch on the moss

He is so cute hunni and obviously a little survivor. It must have been lovely for you when he first poked his little head out, I can imagine the joy I would have felt. Thanks for the great photo too, it is beautiful. I hope you do see him regularly, please let us know.

He is now also asleep on the tank side like the others. I think he mainly ate moss and soil actually. I placed him on the food and he didn't seem to know what to do. After a third time he decided to give it a go and ate from everything that is in the dish. Then he went over to the cutterbone. I hope he will be fine and that he doesn't experience any damage from his wacko start in life. Maybe he will come and eat and come out more often now that he knows there is a whole world out there besides the small corner he was living in. I'm still baffled lol? I kinda rearranged that tank 3 times while he was in. He does has the same color of the moss so it's easy to look over him. But the fact that i never crushed him is just... wow

Oh bless him, they do love to sleep on their sides don't they? When I first saw this I was worried in case they were poorly or worse but it seems to be a comfy position for them to sleep in. Like us, they probably have to keep changing sides to stay comfy I am glad to hear that he has a good appetite, most of mine go but Sidney is definitely the greediest, there is always one isn't there lol?
Thanks for the extra photo hunni and the update. He really is super cute.
