Hey guys, im hoping someone can help. My mixed tank of snails are all retracted and super mucus-y, kina limp. I gave them all baths and put them in another ctainer with food etc, and only the adult immac and baby reticilatas have come out. The others came out whilst in the bath but are now not. They're not as retracted anymore but I don't know what might have caused this? They were fine Monday when they had their runabout but now I don't know? I'm afraid I don't have any photos as I didn't have my camera nearby xx

Um... are they more like sticky or wet?
Any chance they could have gotten in touch with chemicals, such as hand cream, make-up or such?

They're more wet than sticky, it's possible they came in contact with chemicals, what should i do? Xx

They're a retracted now, I've given them baths and they've started to come out, I've now got them in front of mushy bannana and fish food which they seem sort of interested in? Xx

Ok, good to hear they're coming out. Any other improvements or changes? Did they actually eat the banana & fish food?
I've seen a snail de-tox himself by bingeing on calcium for days after sitting in water with a cigarette in it...so make sure they can do that if they feel like it (not sure that they will, but just in case).

I do hope they had something to eat Picklepies love, banana is a favourite with mine. Ha ha Etana hunni, I have just had this really funny imagine in my mind of a snaily sitting in water and relaxing. I so wish I could draw.

You are welcome love and I am sure they will come around in time. Not much comfort to you though whilst you are just waiting. It is a good idea putting two baths in because I think snails see it as a comfort. Mine always look so happy when taking the cure so to speak lol!! Thanks for the update.

Afraid to say 3 of my retics passed away last night, 2 adults and the baby. My immac is very retracted also, and I'm afraid he may not last long I've moved them into the warmer tank, hopefully the higher heat and humidity will help x

I've had this with retics before. Some are genetically very weak and I believe this will be one of the causes. Sorry for your loss.
What other symptoms are they showing?

Hello Jo, thank you for outkind words. It seems windy and seb may make it past this, both are obly slightly retracted and are poking their feet out without the prompting of a bath. I think Ron the immac the s not long, he is so retracted I can't even see him, and saddest for me I don't think Gabriel will live long either. Gabriel is the daughter of Jim and Apollo both of who passed away last year, very close to each other. I was hoping Jims child might live to adulthood but it seems that might not be the case xx

Hello, im afraid that Ron and Gabriel have passed away. After some thought I decided to buy baby snails, as I'm not sure I'm ready to loose their pretty faces, I will post pics when they arrive xx
