Gerrit, the first snail i took in after i stepped on him... has died. I had him for 2 years and found him passed away last weekend.

The thread's a little old, but at least you took Gerrit in and cared for it, as opposed to ignoring it.

Thanks. I had him for 2 years and seemed like a happy snail buddy. Outside he would have died if i left him there. He was the most active of all the snails. Sometimes i still think i can see him but it's a part of a branch

He probably is still there with you in away sweetie, when he isn't at Rainbow bridge. I sometimes I think I feel my past pets around me and when I think about it, it makes me so sad. I hope you are OK hunni, it is those left behind who suffer no matter who is lost.

In a short time after Gerrit died, his friends followed him.. I have no idea why or how. I only have 1 left from the 4 snails i had. They all died shortly after each other. I still have 2 younger snails as well and they are doing fine. So i don't really have any clue what the reason might be.
