Hiya, I was wondering if anyone had any clues as to what my new snails are please? They have rough shells, though whether this is down to lack of calcium/poor growth or whether they naturally grow like this I really don't know. Thanks And it's partner.....

She said the snails got mixed up somewhere along the lines and she doesn't know what they are. I am under the impression she doesn't have any of the adults. I don't know, it's a muddle I wondered about Immaculata, but their shells are usually smopother I think - though I don't have much experience with Immacs.

Hi,
Doh! Checked the other threads, in answer to my earlier question, yes you got them from miles.
She lives about 20 mins from me, she's got hundreds of snails so I could imagine it's easy for her to get them mixed up.
;D

what colour columella do they have? if theres any hint of red, pink or purple they would be immaculata. Their body colour looks more like fulica, but immac's can also sometimes have darker body colour.

Thanks Kevin I will try to have a look. I'll have to push their bodies in a bit..........
The collumella looks the same as the shell, with no hint of red/pink/purple at all.

it may be worn away then, I had some fulica years ago that had shells that were so worn when they arrived the columella appeared to be brown. From the body colour I would think they are fulica, but it isnt a reliable way to tell for sure, I wouldnt keep them with other species just to be sure.

Thanks, they're being kept seperate The shell colour is one I've not seen before in Fulica, part of the shell is almost pale pink-white on one of them. If I can get their shells growing properly we may have more of an idea. Thanks everyone
