These are my four newish snails, and I'm sorry, but I got mixed up as to which were which are which. I take it the O. Lactea are on the left and the P.Inchoata are on the right? Sorry for getting them muddled and thanks, I just want to be absolutely certain that I don't get them muddled again.

Here's a long overdue update.
Most of these died, I now have two left.
These are now being kept in a tank with Cepaea Nemoralis and Hortensis. the tank is airy, the air is fairly dry, until the evening, where they get a good misting. They're kept cool, just unheated room temperature.
Since being in these conditions they've become active, have eaten well, bred and laid a batch of eggs. This is recent, so they have not hatched yet.
I hope to have better success. Incidently the last batch of babies all died, I never saw evidence of them eating, yet they pooped, so perhaps theyy were. I suspect that the humid conditions of the previous tank may have been a contributing factor though.

Sorry to revive an old thread but I thought it appropriate on this thread.
I aquired some otala lactea over the weekend and was wondering, what their requirements were, especially after yours died so quickly aliensnail

Ah well that's the trouble, I never could get it right and no-one could really help. They don't like it too warm, they hibernate, so I would keep them lower than fulica temperature. Mine appeared happy for a short while and even bred, but all babies and adults died. All I can suggest is to experiement. I hope you find their ideal conditions. Good luck.

Oh dear! That's terrible to hear, surely someone must know how to look after them? I must say though, if I ever needed help looking after snails I would immediately come to you Ness, or Dusk. I hope somone finds out how to look after them. And soon.

Well, I have been reviweing some ID references about Otala genus and the big light color one on the top ( right), doesn´t really look like any Otala lactea at all, but more close to Otala derenica.
