Just out of interest i thought it would be nice to do a little poll to see what your snails really go for. This poll is about fruit, vegetables and mushrooms, not other food. I realise that some species will like one thing more than others, but in general, what would you put into most of your tanks knowing that most of the snails will eagerly munch it up? Almost all of my snails like sweet potato, baby sweetcorn and cucumber, and most like lettuce and tomato. You can choose up to four options

Definitely sweet potato, Romaine lettuce, courgette, and mango. The caracolus seem to really love mushroom, but the others won't eat it. The bigger ones also absolutely adore pumpkin seeds, but the small ones and caracolus won't tackle them. I bought a few different fruits/veg at the supermarket last week and I'm trying the snails on them lately. They rather liked pear, but wouldn't touch plums. Going to try avocado tonight I think

Courgette is great for keeping fresh in the fridge for quite a while and mine love the stuff ! lettuce wise I tend to keep an iceberg in the fridge because they keep for ages too, but I find my snails prefer the sweet romane type stuff, so I try to keep both in. Then theres cucumber, my snails , Poo in particular, love cucumber ! they can eat it all day ! lol I`m going to try a few new things when they start waking up a bit.....

My snails love Common chicory (Cichorium intybus) it's quite cheap compaired to it's mass. I think it tastes really disgusting, but it's nice that snails have some foods that I don't like so they wil stay in fridge only for snails. I just wash them and rip leaves apart and but in tank, @moment you can hear if you go close some hardcore munching. Hmmh.. I noticed that it's in category salads, so I won't be given it that often anymore 'cos it's just more pricier than normal salad.

I find that mine love the famous Florette lettuce which is a mix of iceberg lettuce, lambs lettuce, red lettuce, endives and just general lettuce. One thing mine absolutely love is cucumber. My 4 adult albino's ate 45 pieces of lettuce in one day! They didn't half devour it, I'm telling you!
