3 of my 4 snailies have lost roughly 10% of their body weight within the last 2 months. i was wondering if this is normal over the winter months for them to maybe eat less and lose weight or do i have cause for concern? they always have food available so they havent been starved. the other remaining snail has put on 10% of his body weight and that snail is the only one whos not very active and spends alot of its time burrowed which i find strange. i have bought some sweet potato for them today to try build them back up as they havent had it for a while. are there any other foods good for building up snails?

Avocado are meant to be very good.
As for if it's normal I'm not sure, it's a good question. I would say it's normal in the wild, but in captivity? hmm. Is your tank temperature constant?
My Limicolaria have become less active and I'm putting that down to the cooler temperature. They have a heat mat all year, it's not cold in there, but cooler than summer.....
As for the on ewho isn't so active - perhaps he expends less energy but eats a similar amount?

i tried them with avocado last week but they didnt eat much of it. is there a special way to serve avocado as i just halfed it as i wasnt too sure. my tank temperature is about 24-25 degrees and pretty constant. i will give it about a month and weigh them again and see whats happening then. im still getting eggs from the 2 fulicas and my retic is still active so as far as i can tell theyre still happy snailies

My snails have gone very sleepy in the last month or so, only a few Fulicas and some Retics are even active. Try potato, they love the stuff and I`ve heard it`s a good one for snaily body building !

Perhaps not, but just a thought.... x I like those food suggestions...

im not going to start panicing until i weigh them again in roughly a months time. i didnt think eggs would weigh that much. my retic was 240 ish grams and shes lost 23 grams. shes the only retic in the tank but i have had roughly 10 eggs from her but they werent fertile
