Wow I'm in shock! (ok mild shock) Long story short I have had to rearrange my tanks, snails and heat mats today, all sorted. I thought I'd put my Megas into a slightly bigger tank to fit their waterfall in better. Anyway I cam across a soft greenish clear-ish squishy thing that I swear looks just like a green seadless grape, nearly 2cm long. I do put these in from time to time but I always chop them in half first. Anyway, thinking it was odd to find a whole one in there I picked it up and lo-and-behold it's not a grape. Looking further I found another one but half the size. I don't know what else they could be but mega eggs, and unfortunately now I've disturbed them Hope they hatch........

Well as soon as I realised what I'd done I burried them, and though after I should have taken a photo. Really, no kidding, they're just like green grapes!

Thanks! I'd long since given up on them ever mating and was just happy to watch them slime around. They've been very active lately, they love their waterfall so perhaps it got them in the mood

Good luck, I tried to find photo of those eggs but I couldn't find. At least I found out somewhere they eat snail egg caviar.

Thanks Muddy and Crossless.
I am tempted to gently move some soil out of the way and briefly uncover it to take a photo.....

The photo doesn't do it justice. On the left is a genuine green seadless grape, it is rather green. some are quite pale and yellow-green, but this is bright green. The egg on the other hand has a translucency like grapes which is not showing, and a pale green tinge which made it look grape-like, again it's not showing on the photo. I wish I could get a better shot, but no matter which light setting I tried the egg wasn't showing it's true form on camera. Oh, and it's around 1.5 cm long, not nearly 2

Well with regards eggs some species lay soft eggs, and some hard. Some of those that lay hard eggs can occasionally lay soft infertile eggs that looks a bit like jellybeans and are failry clear. I am wondering if megas should lay soft or hard eggs. If they should lay hard eggs then I am guessing that the one in their tank is infertile. Does anyone know please? Oooh just seen the link, thank you Grant (and thank you Crossless). I can't remember that one Grant! I wonder if they hatched in the end, and how soft they were. Wow Crossless that's a massive egg!

Megas lay hard eggs. They look like frosted glas and feel just like glas when you touch them. The size of the eggs differs quite a lot (1,5 cm to 2,2 cm). What that depends on I have no idea. Unfortunately I've got no hatchlings yet either.

Thanks for the information Fluffy, perhaps mine is infertile then. I'll keep in anyway, just in case
