I don`t think you can compare the eggs of geckos to snake eggs dude. Different species of snake eggs need vastly different treatment in order to be hatched and vary wildly in thier ease of husbandry, that`s before you even consider the difference between snake eggs and gecko eggs. Some desert species for example, you need to keep the eggs humid to mimic an underground nest but at the same time, you get a single dropplet of water on them and they`re dead, very tricky indeed. If you get your temperatures slightly wrong, you can easily end up with deformities in snakes, two heads for example is a fairly common deformity in snakes hatched from eggs that haven`t been kept at optimum temperatures. I`m quite surprised your dropped egg survived, you`d think that would tear blood vessels or cause impact injury in the embryo, how high did you drop it from?

I've kept baby snails on kitchen roll before, but only as a temporary measure, they have a habit of eating it and not the actual food, which i doubt is the best thing in the world for them. Snails + paper = goodbye paper. When hoggle got out his tank i found him happily destroying my calender. lil monster

Their paper eating can be quite useful, I once had a snail eat a red letter while my back was turned lol ;D

lol, well its when they eat the time and date of an appointment you HAVE to be at its a problem. Calling up the people, and having to tell them you no longer have the date as a snail ate the letter, nae good. I got hung up on twice when that happened, so i gave up and said my postie ripped the letter.

Sometimes when I find from snails tank some eggs that I haven't noticed, when they are almost ready to hatch, I drop them in plactic jar them bounce once when they have been dropped.

More funnier would be "Excuse me? What did you say?" "Yes it was snails that eat my bill and then it was like really huge." I think it's new that snails eat paper as for those how aswer to phone, normal is when dog does it or cat pees on your mail.

I droped the egg-container standing to the floor and im 178 cm tall !They turned out 100% fine and healthy... i didnt expect them to hatch at all... You often get deformaties with temperatyre fluxes in geckos.... i know snakes are very different....

hmmh.. I was thinking one day how to keep snails peatless all the time, 'cos turtles diet is not about snails substrate. Well I came up with really clean way to hatch eggs in different container. Find eggs early as possible rinse carefully them with water in colander but them in some container. Take some paper towels wet them with water little bit, and make balls of them and put them with eggs on top of them and keep paper moistured all the time. If needed higher humidity use some container which don't have too many airholes.
