Just after decent accurate items that dont cost a packet

I don`t bother with hygrometers, you don`t really need an exact level of humidity like with other animals so I just make sure it`s humid in there, spraying now and then to top up the water content of the tank, within reason of course... You`ll find cheap little thermometers on Ebay, little discs or even a cheap laser thermometer ! Those are great because you can take readings from objects in the tank. I should think your thermometer is fine, you could test that it works by putting it in the fridge and seeing that it changes but I`m sure it`s ok Welcome to Supersnails ;D

I have a digital combination thermometer/hygro with a probe filament from eBay - I check all the tanks by judgement every day when I feed them and with the instrument if there's been a recent change in weather or something. Not too expensive, worth investing in if you have more than one or two tanks and/or some very picky species

I tried last night to think which kind of is best for snails I'm planning to try these in pairs hygro and thermo in both ends of tank when I get new tank (over metre in lenght). www.exo-terra.com/en/products/analog_hygrometer.php www.exo-terra.com/en/products/analog_thermometer.php They are cheap and easy to change when needed change broken one. I tryied digital one it isn't good for snails, they bury it or mess it up, if water hits to it, it don't give real persent. If snail goes over lol it changes it's reading. Then I was thinking this one www.exo-terra.com/en/products/combometer.php same kind of but cheaper I think it's hard to put it in tank so snails wont touch it and should be covered from direct water spray and snails touch so snail don't drope cord down and drop down with it. Maybe if you would make somekind of weird cover on it and put it on wall it maybe would work. I have to think that option too. If analog ones don't work. Now I have only thermometer, I have had snails over a year so I'm good in keeping humid in tank so it don't change too much without any hygrometers. I have read that analog meter don't show changes as quickly as digital or normal ones. Slow readings comes from stiff mechanism in side of meter.

yeah, i guess thats the main drawbeck with analogue againts digital - any changes will be spotted straight away on a digi one, whereas analogues would take time to change to log the difference
