Hi there! I'm new to this site and found it because I was trying to identify some snails I'd photographed. I was recently lucky enough to visit Barbados, where I photographed the 3 species below. Unfortunately, there seems to be little, or no information that I can find on the web to help me with an i.d. (unless I'm looking in the wrong places). I wondered whether there was anyone out there with the expertise to i.d. them for me, or to point me in a direction that might assist me in my quest? Thanks Dave Attachments:

Sorry about this, I didn't realise that I was restricted to 1 attachment per post! Here is the second - shell diameter was about 3/4 inch. For the first example shell diameter was approx 1 and 1/4 inches. No 3 to follow... Attachments:

...and No 3. For this guy the shell diameter was only about 1cm. Thanks in anticipation Dave Attachments:

Hiya, and welcome to the forum, Dave Nice snails there. Number 2, the brown one, looks like a Pleurodonte isabella. I can 't say for definite but it looks very likely. I'm not sure about the others. I will ask around if no-one can identify them soon for you.

Thanks Alien (hope you don't mind me using your first name so soon).
I'd appreciate any asking you can do. I don't know how successful this quest is going to be as I found out today that there has NEVER been a proper survey of land snails on Barbados, or if there has, the government of Barbados is unaware of it! Who knows what might be out there!

Been chatting with Choco and we think it's worth asking a couple of other people too, so I'm about to contact them. It's interesting about the lack of studies on the local snails. There is a wealth of information just ready to be found it seems.

the 1st one may be an Orthalicus, or Drymaeus species, Im not sure what species the last one is.
