I'm sifting through some pages of snails I'm wanting to collect, some are SO pretty that I've started making a list of snails I'm going to purchase. Two tones are by all, the hardest to find but I will not give up! Helicophanta bicingulata Madagascar Lissachatina zanzibarica Archachatina marginata ovum Nigeria type 1 leucistic So many more but those are at the top of my list I could happy dance right now

Sounds like great fun. I have to keep myself from browsing snail store websites because it hurts that I can't currently buy more giant snails (very hard to set up new tanks in my home, I REALLY need to fix that as my current tanks are overcrowded). Anyhow, as for what I dream of happening: um... In an earlier thread like this I said I wanted a snail who'd be as big and fat as possible, and now I have a Tiger snail who's bigger than my hand and still growing. He's even more fun to have than I thought, as he's quite tame but unbelievably lazy and that makes me laugh. But most of all I wish that my lovely, lovely Achatina balteata pair would breed!!

LOL Borini, imagine the snail trails you'd have to clean up! And the sounds he'd make when eating and bubbling!

Haha! You two are making me laugh. A giant dog sized snail would be fun. But thier poo would be a mile long.

Thanks, Ive seen some advertised but they were a con from Africa. I know this type of snails is pretty expensive but a couple for breeding would be good if I can locate them.

Ha ha, they would have to be house trained, I too imagined the size of the poops too Glitterbug and Etana LOL!! I love the two tones, I haven't been looking at other snailies much as I have too many in my tank already but they are stunning. What are their natures like, does anyone know? there is definitely a difference between my fulica and the albinos. Sidney the only adult fulica I have is very sociable with me and less shy than the others.

Jo, the two tones are very very social and active. They were always out and when I would pick them up or dig them out of the soil, they would come out straight away to investigate. Often have them on me, and they would crawl around on my arm or leg (I love the feeling) and would settle and just sit for hours there (Keeping them moist of course). I do hope to find some in the future, I'm just looking at Suts, margies and Retics at the minute though, I really want more snailies to love.

Thank you for that info Glitterbug love, it is really kind of you and I am glad they are sociable little things. I too love the contact (a cuddle I call it) of a snailie and they way they move and wave to you. I often wonder what they are saying. I still have a lot to learn though and am so pleased I am on this forum because there are lovely people on here and I know I can always get advice. I will have to look up Stuts and Retics. Yes I know what you mean hun, I just adore my snailies too and having them to love is just wonderful.
Hugs JO xx

Elephant sized snail... Wow. Think of that one going to the toilet. Or making a grumpy face. Or both. At least that snail could beat you with an eye and you'd actually feel it.

I'd like a "pinto" snail, colored like a pinto/Paint horse. Any two colors on the squishy part of the body would be fine. Is there such a thing? And if so, that I could get in the USA?

reticulata snails are creamish and brown, I'm not sure if you would be able to get them into the USA though. You would have to look into your states laws about them. However, look on here landsnails.org/en/Sale/Snails and check the gallery part of each snail.
