I don't think you have deprived your snails Jo. They have been known to eat over 500 types of food, thats a big list and a lot of variation for us snail lovers to try with them. This is the only place that I would buy my fish food from in the past. taaquaculture.uk/Go to the menu on the left hit dry goods then spirulina for the full range. They sell a fantastic list of spirulina flake, powder, granular types etc etc. They also have a good range of individual ingredients for other food types.

Thank you MOA love, they do get the best of anything. If it is not suitable for me to eat it is not suitable for them. They have a lovely variety of veggies and fruit. Thanks for that link too; they have just had their partial soil change so it is a good time to get these things. It will have to be next week though because of the money but would do anything to make my snails happy. Thanks again hunni.
Salad, tomatoes, sweet potato and cucumber (the latter being their weekend treat)

Salad, tomatoes, sweet potato and cucumber (the latter being their weekend treat) Hugs JO xx Yes, very occasionally I will also feed tomatoes myself but maybe only once or twice a year as we have so much variety to provide them. My other reasons for this is that I have learned from keeping tortoises that tomatoes deplete calcium levels. That much if you do decide to feed it as a treat which is fine you have to supply at least twice the amount of calcium levels at the same time as tomatoes. I know the digestional tract will be different in snails than what it is in tortoises, both however require good amounts of calcium and D3. Part of the reason I am looking at what brands are safe with regards to supplements. I wreckon ZOLCAL-D is safe for snails as it contains no sodium (salts) but I will be honest I haven't looked into the rest of its ingredients to see if they are safe, if anyone knows? Here is an eBay product link: rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F282286035951I am also thinking of replacing the cuttlefish with a Zoomed tortoise block as per this link: rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F281385555658But again I just want to double check all the ingredients before I do use them. I always like to try things out for a wee while before I recommend anything to anyone. So if anyone is reading this outwith me and Jo, dont try the above out until we know for sure 'every ingredient' within both products are safe. Wouldn't want any unnecessary snail deaths on my conscious.

Thank you for the super post MOA love and for the two links. I have bookmarked them both. I used to keep tortoises to and they had a supplement in their food but I can't for the life of me remember the name. My ex-husband still has them as far as I am aware. That was it Neutrobal but I think the spelling may be off-key lol. Mine don't have tomatoes that often MOA love nor cucumber which I know isn't good for them, they have a few slices as a weekend treat. I think anything with a shell requires calcium, I have hermit crabs and they are the same, they love their cuttlefish bone.

I am going to order some ZOLCAL-D next week for my 2 Agalychnis callidryas to see how they respond.
They are also quite sensitive to toxins and environmental changes.
If it goes well then I will introduce it to the pump action spray bottle I use for the snails.
As soon as I have some feedback I will report my findings regarding the snails.

Im trying to find natural antbitics/anti inflammatories that are safe for snails, if you have any experience with ones id like to hear. also those are considered very good anti inflammatories with humans so i wanted to check if they are safe to try with snails: cinnamon powder ,cinnamon oil,Turmeric powder, Ginger ,Garlic ,Cayenne and Clove
thank you!
