Could anyone please tell me when they remove what is left of the cuttle fish? I try and keep a whole one in there all the time but they really get through it. Are they supposed to eat the whole thing if left in there only mine don't seem to. When it is down to the bone so to speak, they don't bother with it. Many thanks.

They normally leave the hard, thin surface uneaten. Some very calcium hungry snails will eat holes in even that. I hope this answers your question

Thank you Etana love, indeed it does. I am trying to always make sure there is a cuttle bone in there with plenty of calcium on but it really doesn't last long. Some of the edges of the hard bit left behind have been nibbled but I take those out now and put fresh ones in. They also have plenty of the calcium powder so I hope I am giving them enough. Apparently a friend of Paul's is bringing a big box of it back with him when he visits his mother up north this weekend. I really hope he does because I am getting through it very quickly.

@ jolovessnailies I think I'd be afraid to let your snails sit on my hand!

Ha ha, they are quite friendly hun, at least I haven't been nipped yet. A gentle rasp I class as a kiss.
