Hi,
Very sorry I haven't been able to log on. After Christmas my man got a blood clot in his leg that was misdiagnosed at first, then after the correct diagnosis he still had a mini piece of it travel up to his lung and things got scary. I've been looking after him as he still doesn't walk much.
I've lost a few snails in the meantime, but thankfully all my favourites are doing well.
I hope everyone's snails are okay, and I will be back when I can.
Hugs to all and a happy 2017!!

I am so very sorry to hear this my darling, I hope your boyfriend gets well soon. It gives me the horrors to think of things like this being misdiagnosed as they are so serious. I am so glad that he has you to look after him love as I am sure he is. It does get tiring for the carer though. Please keep us posted.
I am sorry t hear about your snailies, mine I am glad to say are fine at the moment although they didn't eat any of their dinner last night, I think they are going through a non-eating phase.
A very happy New Year to you too hunni, let's hope it will be a better one for us all.
Hugs JO xx

I'm back from a time in hospital again so likewise things have been a bit rough here. I hope that you and your boyfriend are ok Etana and tyhat your biyfriend heals up quickly and well from his blood clot.
We've also lost a few snails but had another 3 hatch as well. Marrow is still being Marrow when he's awake, I have to keep wakeing them up so they eat when ever I get back home. They always have food but they seem to be in the mind to sleep more.
Happy New Year for 2017 and I wish everyone a good healthy happy and propserous year ahead with plenty of snailing.
Zorst
Hopefully the Dr's have finally figured out what the underlying cause was as to me keeping getting taken down with lung infections and pnumonia, I've still a way to go but slowly I'm starting to get back to feeling a bit more like normal.

Oh Zorst hunni, I am so sorry to hear that you have been poorly again but am glad they have found the underlying reason. Perhaps now you really can begin to feel better. I am sorry you have lost a few snailies though, luckily at the moment ours are all fine and thriving. Mine are a little off their food at the moment and are doing a lot of sleeping. I wonder if it is a snaily thing this time of year or something LOL!! Lots of healing vibes are on their way love.

I'm attempting to get back on board here. My boyfriend can now walk again. He is still on a lot of meds and in a bit of pain, but I don't need to do everything for him anymore.
Sorry to hear it was so hard for you too Zorst.
I am now pampering my snails, poor things. They do seem to eat a lot more when I am near.

I am so glad your boyfriend is getting better Etana love, it sounds as if you have had an awful time. My snailies are not eating much at the moment, I think the current growth spurt has stopped.

I'm sure glad to hear that your boyfriend is getting well again Etana and that your snails are eatting better now your with them more. Jo the snailies here also seem to sleep more this time of year.
I've a bit futher medical stuff to go through but there is at least now a visible light that I can aim for regarding it all. I took another bad spell but was over it a lot quicker this time now we know whats going on. But both I and my Dr's want to get this sorted out hence I have a bit more of this to go through whilst this is done.
As such some hard decisions have had to be made recently and I rehomed a lot of our Snailies with a friend and her son. They have had snails off of us in the past and really do know how to look after them and love them dearly. So I know that they are going to be well looked after and loved.
Marrow and his friend are going to our local vet who already has some of our snails. Marrow and his friend though will be staying with the Vets assistant at her house as they can't mix with the guys already at the vets and the tank would be to small. The vets assistant has kept Gals for many years and looks after the one's at the vets, so cant wait to have a few of her own again and they will be in a grerat home where they will be very well loved and cared for.
I can't say when n how long I'll be in hospital for whilst my health gets sorted out and its not fair to leave my eldest daughter with all the animals and birds to look after, she's already having to look after Mystic and all he chickens when I'm away or laid up sick.
The snailies from Jo will be arriving here in the spring so all being well I will be a lot better by then and these guys will be able to live here happily. I'm sure going to miss not having the GALS about but for now its honestly the best thing to do as my daughter was so upset that some of the snails went to sleep and never woke up again when she was careing for then whilst I was so sick. This way I know that the snails have the best chance. But I sure will miss Marrow the tank Godfather and his antics with his adoreing fan club.
I will be on the forum as much I can but it will be kinda irratic as I cant plan things one day to the next at the moment which is doing my head in a bit. But when I'm good I'll check back in here.

I am so sorry you are suffering with your health Zorst sweetie and that you are having to rehome some of your snailies. Do you know when you will be admitted yet? You are right, snailies are sleeping more than usual but I am still leaving plenty of food in in case they change their minds and wake up really hungry. I wish there was something I could do to help you hunni, I am sending lots of love and cuddles in the hope that they may help a little at least. Please keep us posted when you feel well enough or are able to.
Lots of love Jo xx

Thanks Jo,
It sure seem's strange not having Marrow and his friend around, but they are happily settled in there new home and thats also a relife for me as I did worry abouyt them when i was away.
If all go's well I'll just be as I am at the moment a walk in patient, I've another appointment today and am due another MRI scan end of Feb / beging March. So we wait n see, for now though I'm in bed safe n warm. I feel fine until I get up n walk anywhere then I just cant breath well enough. Anyhow the Dr's plan to keep me at home if at all possible which is what I want.
I just take thing day by day and if it means i sleep all day that's what I do.
Looking forward to getting the new Snailies when they arrive.

Thanks, Not much news here really as I've not exactly been up to anything ecciting lol. Just reading, resting or asleep most of the time. Mystic the Jackdaw is very good at keeping me company though and enterained with his antics.
I still miss the snails but i get regular updates of how Marrow is still the snail incharge of the tank. He soon clamed the food pile and the bath. He's also made a new friend so that's cool and working on taking over the plant in the corner of the tank as his pad.

You just take it easy love. Animals are wonderful comforts when we are ill aren't they? It sounds as if Marrow is doing really well and has settled in, I love it when they make new friends.
