Hi all i hope this is the right place to ask this! I have 3 fulica and an immac in the same tank, they're a doing great but I've noticed that our albino snowflake and Pebbles the immac are really trying to mate, is this okay, will it result it eggs? Sorry for the odd question!

Um, all I've heard of is failure. The immac love organs do not fit in the fulica. However, I don't know whether it'd work the other way round, the snails stop trying after the immac fails and that happens fast. If it did somehow succeed, hybrid pregnancies are problematic and may end up in dangerous miscarriages. And any questions are ok!

Ah okay, should i seperate them to stop this or will they probably stop in their own time? They seem like friends at every other time, always sleeping together etc so id don't really want to seperate them if i don't have to! Xxx

I do hope they are going to be alright love. If only they could speak and tell us when they felt unwell. And how much they love another snaily so we do not separate them. Please keep us updated.

Yeah it's a dilemma, snaily friendship and romance is so nice and you don't want to separate them, but it could also be dangerous for them to continue together.
It's up to you though. You can keep them together and have your fingers crossed that all mating attempts will end with the immac failing first and nothing actually happening, or you can play safe but break two little hearts. If you do separate them, make some changes in the old tank so the one remaining in there has distractions.
I have had immacs and fulica in the same tank as well, and there was one mixed couple who briefly tried to mate. They did it when I was doing the egg check, and of course were disturbed before they could tell that the immac love organs wouldn't fit. They both looked at me with such VENOM on their little faces! Like, "It's YOUR fault that things aren't working out between us!".
I've not had any suspicious immac deaths or deformed eggs during those times, but I'd personally prefer to keep them apart just to be sure.

Ha ha, were they caught Etana love, how embarrassing for them lol?! Golly and Sidney (fulica and albino) often get together but it just looks as if they are chatting. So far I haven't seen any deformed eggs or have caught them mating, they just seem to like each other.

Lol! Well, Margies are much harder to woo than fulica and immacs are, so I wouldn't worry at all about Golly and Sidney's friendship.

So we got Pebbles a friend, unfortunately there was no picture, and we think he may need a bit of growing time... They seem to be getting along though! flic.kr/p/U7L1cq
