Hi everyone, I'm thinking of re-homing a few of my snailies. With the death and illnesses of my tigers I've become very aware of how very sad it is when they pass, and I'm not sure I can go through that 22 more times, as snailies, unfortunately, do not live forever As such I'm thinking if I re-home them I can live believing them to still be alive and happy etc. I was wondering if anyone else had done something like this? I don't want to regret giving them away, but I'm not sure there are many other options, as I can't stand it when they pass? Sorry for the really melancholy post guys! xx

I understand totally Picklepies love, that is another 22 times to be devastated and I can understand your wanting to rehome some of your snailies, I think I would do the same if I were suffering as you are at present. Good luck with it and please do keep us informed.
Hugs Jo xx

Oh thank out for our lovely reply Jo I've found since sending off the baby retics it leaves quite a nice image, off they go and then I get a photo showing them in their new homes with new friends much nicer than finding them already passed, or watching them getting sicker

You are so welcome love. I am so glad you are happier hunni and the snailies are enjoying their new homes and friends. I think you have done the right thing and can concentrate on loving and caring the ones you now have. Hugs Jo xx

Aw yeah, this is the dark side of snail keeping. They find a way to your heart that you don't expect, and break it when they go. I've cried so much over losing my favourite snails and I know people who couldn't continue snail keeping at all after a particularly sad loss.
As long as you ensure that the snails go to good homes and preferably can leave with at least one best friend to help them adjust, there's nothing wrong with rehoming in itself.
