Hi, im looking for a way to protect some young plants im my gardens from snails and slugs that consuming them completley. I obviously dont want to harm the snails by any way so im looking for stuff thats just repell them and dosent posion or hurt them.
do you have any ideas? anything that i can spread around the young plants? or perhaps plants that they hate and will keep them away?

Sorry this is incredibly late.
There are three simple things I know of that you can do that won't directly hurt the snails.
One is to plant something for them that they love even more than the plants you want for yourself.
Another is to grow lots of onions in between your vegs, as they are toxic to snails and they will avoid them naturally.
The third option is to have your plants in some kind of boxes that are lifted up from the ground, so snails need to put a lot of effort into getting to them and will usually rather eat something else. I did this one once with my lettuce, and didn't have any problems with the many snails and slugs that roamed the area.
There is talk about copper wires and such, but IMO those are expensive, a lot of effort, and snails learn to make arcs over them if they're not planned very well.
