Good luck with finding the recharger Jo, I'm looking forward to seeing your pics! Pro: It's no longer annoying that when you buy a box of pre-packaged veg or fruit, there's always one that's going bad - there's someone in the house who will love a bite of exactly that! I didn't say that one earlier did I? I think I only mentioned the Pro of not having to throw vegs away if they spoil in your fridge.

Soooo... ahem, cough.
Pro: You get to observe this very funny situation: A snail is sleeping on top of a pile of his own poop, and another snail ever so quietly sneaks up to him, actually steals the poop, and eats it with his face all ball shaped and eyes looking down on it like it's the best thing all week.
Con: The first person you tell (who is the first person you meet after seeing this) doesn't see how that is a "pro" of snail keeping.

Pro... There are so many different types, colours and patterns there's bound to be a snail out there for everyone! They are uber cute when they do their little dance!!!! They are so simple and cheap to keep... its even not that expensive to keep them in total luxury... that anyone can do it!! Con... They poo... a lot!!!!! Once you start, you can stop. Their snaily strangeness is just so addictive!!! non-snailies alway give you a weird look when your trying to explain why you love them sooooooo much!!

Pro: Yes you can love, the trouble is they think it is all right to tell a snailey lover how much they do not like them and I would get a little bit cross LOL!!

Heh, just the other day someone came over for the first time. She looked into the tank I have in the living room, and asked who lives in it. I said "Giant snails". Her reaction? "Oh! My sis has those. I send her pics of my cat, she sends me pics of her snails bathing or something and I'm like 'How about having NORMAL pets?' " Well, normality for the sake of just normality itself is waaaay overrated.

Lol, how can anyone say what a "normal" pet is? I never ceases to amaze me how little imagination people have. I think pets in general are interesting and the expecially the ones "normal" people have not like us special, interesting people with special interesting pets. That like watching people squirm and screw their faces up when you tell them you have snails. I usually get comments like, mmm nice cooked with garlic.

Yeah, cats and dogs ARE wonderful animals and all, but they're not for everyone. Sometimes I really think that a dog owner should have chosen a terrarium pet instead if they can't be bothered to walk their dog enough, etc.
The cooking joke is so old! Just like I wouldn't say to a cat owner, "must be fun to throw him into a wall". People!!
Pro: When you're putting smelly honeybee wax on your leather couch and shoes, there are pairs of little eyes staring firmly at you from the tank, but nobody comes running to lick it (referring to how it'd be if I had a pup).

I love cats and dogs too, in fact we have a kitty, I used to have six. I also used to have an alsatian dog but we haven't the room here for a doggie, especially a big one. I agree with you love, what is normal and I also agree with you, Snailcrazy hun, we are interesting people with super interesting pets, no matter what anyone else says. They thinkthey are being sitty twhen they associate snails with food and have to mention it, we get the same from farmers when we have our Rabbit Welfare Association as these country fairs, we just smile and look at them as if to say "are you always such a knob?" LOL!! Yes Etana hunny the cooking joke does get very tiresome.
