You are right hun, it hasn't been brilliant here either. I went for my PIP assessment this morning and I think it went well, hope so anyway. Thanks for sharing that great video, you certainly have everything under control, I wish I were more technical. When I had exotic pets when married to my first husband he was very good at that sort of thing and everything ran like clockwork. Although I wouldn't want anyone else, second hubby is not that way inclined LOL! I think my snailies are happy, they are in the one room (my room) where the heat is never off and I am careful with the temperature in there. They are certainly very healthy, we have a check over every two days.

Been a while since I last posted, been travelling about and family life has been keeping me very busy. So here are some photos below that I took yesterday. Anakin is still a very shy snail but if I remember correctly so was Ashoka until she had the first big growth spurt. Ashoka seems to be out during the day as well as night, Anakin is only out at nights just now. I have monitored them both at night and they generally stay out of each others Road. Hope you all like the new photos and thank you for following my thread. Any questions feel free to ask. All the best, MOA.

Thanks, for such lovely photos MOA hunni. Your snails are adorable, I have some who will come out during the day and go for the food bowl, I think it is so the ones who come out at night do not always get the best pickings lol! At night though there is such a tangle you cannot tell one snaily from another lol! I notice you have given yours green beans, I tried that with mine but no one seemed very impressed. I put kiwi fruit in last time I fed them and it was still there yesterday but I hope they have eaten it because if I were the snailies, I would consider that a real treat. hope Ashoka gets a bit bolder in the future. It is a pleasure following your threat MOA hunni and the pictures are so very cute. I could look at snailies all day.

The weekly update. Anakin has started to eat a lot better, more variation, and also up eating during the day aswell as at night. From what I am observing I cannot see any bond or friendship between Ashoka and Anakin. What I mean by this is they just stay out of each others Road. Ashoka is still more active but is a good bit larger than Anakin. Here is some pictures... Enjoy, MOA

Great pics! Anakin looks like the first tiger snail I had. He had a similar skin color and also the shyness, plus mine was terrified of humans due to bad handling in a pet store. The only snail he ever liked was another smaller tiger who was very careful when getting to know him. It makes me wonder where exactly these shy tigers come from! The aforementioned smaller one is now my biggest snail, he is super gentle but doesn't seem to have a best friend. Some other snails of mine are very social, they run to greet anyone who looks like a snail (including iron and porcelain snails - taught me to put them where the snails can't see them!), plus they stretch towards humans and give a pat of an eye when near enough.

They are as individual as we are aren't they Etana love, each with their own little personalities. Golly the biggest in my tank seems to attract the babes, they love to take a ride on him and he seems to like it. I have seen it once or twice with the others but they definitely seem to prefer him.

I think for the next post or 2 I am going to document things like equipment, water dechlorinators etc that I use for the snails.
I will of course add the odd snail pictures along with them. π
Stay tuned and I am always keen on getting positive constructive criticism or tips that would help me care for the snails better.

Hello everyone,Β Firstly I hope you all had a great xmas n new year. Apologies for being abscent for a while but being doing a lot of Field work in the cold! Some big changes happening, today is been my first day off since January the 3rd. So the good news is both Ashoka and Anakin are being rehoused in an exoterra setup. And a big 1 at that, 90 x 45 x 90cm. Here is me working on it now.... To see the difference in setup check out the nursery @ the top the snails are currently living in. Im really just waiting on a heat mat being delivered then im goid to go. Below us some pictures of both in their old setup and the very last pictures in here... Stay tuned as I am adding some smart home devices to the new vivarium including a Sonoff TH10 (humidity & Temp monitor) , Sonoff RF for the lights and a couple of good but cheap timers. Most work with Amazon Alexa! Take care folks, MOA

They just found out today Jo. I ran in to some problems, the water feature I put in the setup was cracked and leaking. I tried some aquarium sealent but it just wasnt curing so this morning I got the Bitumen paint and my mrs hair dryer "shhhh about hair dryer cant have her finding outout". I painted the cracks with it and so far so good. This setup has a layer of bio balls incase I go bioactive again regarding the soil, weed fabric on top of the bioballs and then a layer of coconut husk. I have a sonoff TH10 for voice activation of the lights via alexa plus it gives me the ambient temperature and humidity. I have a hot end with a heatmat stuck to the right side at the bottom sitting at about 27c the cool end is about 24-25c. Humidity needs a tiny boost sitting about 76% going up to 80% at night. The overall night temperature is 24c as these guys prefer it slightly hotter than other species. The only thing im worried about is I have some rocks in there incase they fall. Here is some pictures, suggestions on improvements are most welcome. Todays dinner is spirulina flake, courgette and green beans..... Hopefully they will both be much happier in this setup given its size being 90 x 45 x 90cm. I am also pleased that the day light bulbs emit UVA & UVB to help keep D3 isues at bay. Hopefully it will help provide more natural growth. All the best and I hope you like the setup. MOA.
