Aw I love the fashionable hermies. The mating is actually a lot more boring to watch than the flirting and kissing, they just stay close to each other completely still, and in the case of fulica it's always that at least one snail is in an uncomfortable looking position. I think the small snail species I keep have more sensual looking courting & mating behaviour (ah, writing this I'm starting to miss the waltzing Arianta arbustorum), but you have to get really close to see anything. The adult Cepaea in my latest pics aren't even as big as my thumb tip, so much passion in small packages there.

When we were having our shell check this morning, at the same time when I add more food, change the water and clean the glass, two of the albinos were really in a tight hold. I just left them to it so as not to disturb them too much but I think they were mating. Oh bless them, they obviously make up for being tiny in other more pleasurable ways LOL!!

Oh! I've forgotten to post this. Maija and Iisakki snailing up the tank door together, before Maija moved out of this tank. Click for a big version. Maija has this habit of using her eye stalks really, realllllly long. I like that I got Iisakki's foot muscles pictured, too.

Ahh, Tauno's been his sneaky self again. Today I found another new hatchling in the tank with Tauno's obvious silver foot. I had to move him as I was cleaning up, so I decided that might as well try to take pics. Click for big versions, Yes that's my index finger. The little guy has some muck hanging from his shell. He was very fast and curious, leaving a tiny snail trail on my finger that you sort of can see in the picture. I let him go on top of a bigger snail's shell. It was very hard getting my camera to focus on the little guy, so this is the best I got.

Just to report, the tiny guy in the last pics has some siblings. I should always check what Tauno is doing if he's staying still. That was just a couple days ago though! He has given birth or laid eggs that immediately have hatched.
At least the clutch wasn't big.

These photos are absolutely adorable Etana love. I could look at snaily pics all day, they are gorgeous, I would love to see some pics of the other little brothers and sisters. Putting him on the larger one's shell is so cute, they love hitch hiking LOL!!

Thank you! I find they like gently cooked broccoli the best. Not sure why, though.
